AIM OF WORKSHOPS

To provide alternative methods of educating young people to enhance their learning capabilities. The workshops will expand their world view, increase their critical thinking, make them aware of current issues, encourage their debating skills, better their literacy, increase their confidence and public speaking.

METHODOLOGY

This is done by using poems written and performed by Tuggs.t.ar that centre on the aforementioned issues. Certain items will be expanded by using video footage of relevant films, documentaries and speeches, archive photography, magazines, newspapers, music and artwork.

The programme will have several key threads running through it such as creative writing, cultural awareness, identities, understanding different realities, history’s relevance to today, understanding politics, respect of each other, understanding sexism, feminism, globalisation, understanding racism, oppression and resistance,
